Whitney Elizabeth Houston is a singer that was born in Newark New Jersey on the 9th August 1963. The parents of her are gospel superstars Cissy Houston(n e Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne warwick also sings. She began singing in the choir at her church The New Hope Baptist Church in Newark as a young child and at 15, she had begun singing backing vocals professionally with their mother in Chaka Khan's hit song from 1978 Im Every Woman. Her mother, Jermaine and Lou Rawls were a few of those who she sang with. She was also briefly as a model for Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. She started as a featured vocalist for the The New York-based New York Funk band Material. Her vocal quality performance attracted the attention of big record labels like Arista which she joined in 1983. Whitney Houston, her debut album that debuted in 1985 was the top-selling album of an unproven singer. The album came out with several hits including Saving the Day, All My Love for You How Do You Know You're Good to Love? and The Greater Love of All. This led to her achieving seven US number one hits consecutively. She beat even the Beatles. Album sold in US 3,000,000 copies, and later went to 25,000,000 worldwide. The album earned her the first in the six Grammy Awards she has won. The Whitney album followed in 1987 and the singles Where Do Broken Hearts GO and I Wanna Dance With Somebody helped to expand on the popularity of her first album. It was, however the 1992 film The Bodyguard that solidified her status as one the world's most popular artist. The film itself as well as the performances in it weren't widely appreciated, the album's soundtrack and her rendition of the Dolly Parton song I Will Always Love You was the top of the singles and albums charts for a period of time and sold over 44 million copies around the world. It was also in 1993 that she was married to Bobby Brown, an ex-New Edition musician and father of her only child Bobbi Kristina Brown. In 1996, her drug usage was well documented.
Dana Bash or Dana Ruth Schwartz as she is more commonly known, is an American anchorwoman reporter, as well as CNN's political reporter. In the past, she has been the producer of shows on the network, such as Evans & Novak' Late Edition' and Inside Politics'.
